He is currently CEO of a private investment company, advisor to a number of companies .

Dr Joe Burton is Senior Lecturer in Security and Crime
Science, University of Waikato, and a Marie Curie fellow
(MSCA-IF) at Université libre de Bruxelles completing a
two-year European Commission-funded project
on Strategic Cultures of Cyber Warfare. Joe has been a
visiting researcher at the NATO Cooperative Cyber
Defence Centre of Excellence, Tallinn, Estonia. His
research is focused on transnational responses to
security challenges, most notably cyber security
(especially political, cognitive and human factors), with a
focus on Euro-Atlantic and the Asia-Pacific regions.

Ebrima N. Ceesay

Dr. Ebrima N. Ceesay is a cybersecurity professional with extensive technical, management and academic expertise in diverse aspects of cybersecurity programs, information assurance, big data, digital forensics, wireless networks, protocols and encryption standards. He has over 17 years' experience leading, designing, and implementing national cybersecurity initiatives with the US Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, Office of the Director of National Intelligence, United States Air Force, National Reconnaissance Office and the private sector to protect the cyber infrastructure of the United States and its allies.
Ebrima has a Ph.D. in Computer Science and a Diploma in Entrepreneurial Management from the University of California at Davis. He has held senior positions for companies including Apple, Inc., IBM, Booz Allen Hamilton,TASC, Leidos and Noblis. Ebrima is currently Senior Distinguished Engineer at Capital One Financial, Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins University's Whiting School of Engineering and University of California at Berkeley's Information School and Associate Professor at George Mason University's Department of Information Science and Technology.
Ebrima’s primary research interests are at the intersection of computer security and machine learning, specifically in using machine learning to improve software security and in improving security as well as the reliability of the machine learning models themselves.

Alison Gough
Governance Advisor

Alison has over 25 years’ experience working in-house as a
senior corporate lawyer for global property and financial
services organisations advising businesses in Australia,
Europe and Asia on legal, risk and governance related
matters. She has worked for and advised publicly listed
businesses and was a key member of the executive team
that established and managed various private equity real
estate investment funds for institutional investors
investing in Europe, the UK, Asia and Australia. More
recently she has expanded her experience in the nonprofit/
government agency conservation sector in relation to
land and wildlife protection.

Ryan Ko
Cyber Technical Advisor & Investment Advisory Board

Professor Ryan Ko is a computer scientist specialising in cyber security and systems research. His research on homomorphic encryption, data provenance and user data control are central to many cloud security, data tracking and security information and event management (SIEM) tools across open source (e.g. OpenStack, Progger) and industry tools (e.g. ArcSight via Hewlett-Packard Labs) today. He is currently Chair and Director of UQ Cyber Security at the University of Queensland. Prior to UQ, he was with Hewlett-Packard Labs and the University of Waikato. Ryan also established New Zealand’s leading cyber security research group (CROW), the NZ Institute for Security and Crime Science, and the annual New Zealand Cyber Security Challenge. He has held various directorships and advisory roles across academia, industry, listed companies, INTERPOL, ISO, and the governments of Singapore, New Zealand, Tonga, and Australia. Ryan is a Fellow of Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) (2016). He received his Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) (Computer Engineering) and PhD from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Martin U Ripple

Martin is an experienced IT Executive with a focus on the Australasian aerospace and defence industry. He is currently responsible for the Asian activities of Frequentis AG, a global leader of secure communications for governmental and institutional customers.
He was previously the Managing Director of Thales Air Operations in Australia, having joined the Thales Group from the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) with experience in high profile aeronautical projects in the commercial and defence divisions of EADS.

Jon Robinson
Non-Executive Director

Jon is a specialist HR, remuneration and governance
consultant. He brings some 30 years of human resources
consulting experience combined with extensive knowledge
of financial markets. For six years from 2004, Jon led the
Asia business of the Vanguard Group, one of the world’s
largest investment managers. He served on the Singapore
Central Provident Fund’s Advisory Panel from 2006 to
2008 as well as the government’s Economic Review
Committee’s CPF group in 2002. He is an adviser to the M&A
boutique Pickering Pacific and a director of two hedge funds
managed by EFA Group and Independent Director - Singapore for the CAIA Association.

Alex graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Master of International Relations, specialising in Southeast Asian geopolitics. He also recently completed an internship at the Australian Institute of International Affairs. Alex supports 5i Capital's investment and cyber security technical due diligence teams.
